What Social Activities Can Students do in Liverpool
Liverpool is the perfect city for young people that want to be surrounded by a thriving student community as well as having the opportunity to immerse yourself in a cultural city. Liverpool received the European Capital of Culture award in 2008 that blessed the city with kick-starting funding. This money was used to help develop the Liverpool ONE shopping centre along with numerous arts and cultural projects.
Liverpool’s music scene now goes far beyond the birthplace of the Beatles for which it is known worldwide for. The development of the Baltic Triangle and North Docks district means new venues are popping up every year. Promoters are putting on numerous gigs and events every day of the week. Students can enjoy music nights ranging from jazz to underground techno and everything in-between.
The city is also the home of the student popular Bongos Bingo. The club night is a self-described batsh*t crazy take on the Bingo game with dancing on the tables and great music. The Baltic Market has increasingly grown in popularity for a weekend activity for students, locals and tourists alike. The market hosts a varying collection of independent food vendors in a street food style atmosphere. They also boast a packed calendar of different events. Many student immersive themselves in Liverpool’s football culture. As the home of Liverpool FC and Everton FC the cities football passion is strong.
